Posted On 10/28/2007 12:48:15
Jon Bon Jovi (born John Francis Bongiovi, Jr. March 2, 1962) is an American singer, musician, and actor. As lead singer of the hard rock band Bon Jovi, he has sold over 100 million albums worldwide.[1] He is also the owner of Arena Football League team, the Philadelphia Soul.
Bon Jovi was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, the son of Carol Sharkey, a florist and former model, and John Francis Bongiovi, Sr., a hairdresser.[2] He has Italian ancestry.[3] Bon Jovi attended St. Joseph High School in Metuchen, New Jersey during his freshman and sophomore years.[4] He later transferred to Sayreville War Memorial High School in Parlin, New Jersey.[5]

Bon Jovi later then married his highschool sweetheart Dorothea Hurley on April 29, 1989 at the Graceland Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they have 4 children; Stephanie Rose (May 31, 1993), Jesse James(February 19, 1995), Jacob Hurley (May 7, 2002), Romeo Jon (March 29, 2004).

Guns N' Roses
Posted On 10/28/2007 12:46:32
Guns N' Roses is an American hard rock band, formed in Los Angeles, California in 1985. The band has sold an estimated 90 million albums worldwide,[3] including 39 million in the United States.[4] Their 1987 major label debut, Appetite for Destruction, sold over 26 million copies worldwide and reached #1 in the United States.[5]

The band's musical style, onstage presence and bad boy rock image helped usher in a new era of the dominant hard rock and heavy metal scene of the late 1980s and early 1990s. While glam metal was the leading genre in record sales, video charts and radio airplay, Guns N' Roses offered a grittier, more traditional take on rock music, and won many fans who admired their apparent authenticity.

The band enjoyed worldwide success from 1988 to 1993, but clashing personalities of different band members led to the end of the core lineup. Today, frontman Axl Rose is the only original member left in the current Guns N' Roses line-up, having served as lead singer for twenty-two years since 1985.

SCORPIONS (BAND)
Posted On 10/28/2007 12:44:04
Rudolf Schenker, the band's rhythm guitarist, set out to find a band in 1965. At first, the band was school-kind with beat influences and Schenker himself on vocals. Things began to come together in 1969 when Schenker's younger brother Michael and vocalist Klaus Meine joined the band. In 1972 the group recorded and released their debut album Lonesome Crow with Lothar Heimberg on bass and Wolfgang Dziony on drums. During the Lonesome Crow tour, Scorpions opened for upcoming British band UFO. At the end of the tour the members of UFO offered guitarist Michael Schenker the lead guitar job; an offer which he soon accepted. Uli Roth was then called in temporarily to finish off the tour.

The departure of Michael Schenker led to the break up of the Scorpions. In 1973, guitarist Uli Roth, a friend of the Schenker brothers, was in a band called Dawn Road. He had been offered the role as lead guitarist in Scorpions after Michael Schenker's departure but turned the band down. Rudolf decided that he wanted to work with Roth but did not want to resurrect the last Scorpions lineup.

Rudolf Schenker attended some of Dawn Road's rehearsals and ultimately decided to join the band, which consisted of Roth, Francis Buchholz (bass),Achim Kirschning (keyboards) and Jurgen Rosenthal (drums). Roth persuaded Rudolf Schenker to invite Klaus Meine to join, which he did soon after. While there were more members of Dawn Road than Scorpions in the band, they decided to use the Scorpions name because they had released an album and were known in the German hard rock scene

One (Metallica song)
Posted On 10/28/2007 12:43:11
One" was written in November, 1987 by Metallica's principal composers — rhythm guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich. The song was released in 1989 as the second[citation needed] single taken from the album (the first being "Harvester of Sorrow").

Before any music begins, there is a series of sound effects with a battle theme for the first 17 seconds of the track; an artillery barrage is heard and continues slightly after the music begins. The song starts off with a clean tone guitar intro by Hetfield before Kirk Hammett comes in over the top of Hetfield with a clean-toned solo. The song speeds up after Ulrich's drums come in and continues until each chorus, when the guitars become heavy and distorted before returning to clean. There is a second solo by Hammett halfway through the song, before lyrics cut out and the song gradually gets more heavy and distorted until the "machine gun" guitar build up (played alongside two bass drums) before the final - often highly praised - guitar solo by Hammett, and a final dual solo by Hammett and Hetfield.

"One"'s opening A-G modulation was written by Hetfield based on an idea prompted by the song "Buried Alive" by the band Venom.

If I could have just one wish,
I would wish to wake up everyday
to the sound of your breath on my neck,
the warmth of your lips on my cheek,
the touch of your fingers on my skin,
and the feel of your heart beating with mine...
Knowing that I could never find that feeling
with anyone other than you.

Posted On 10/12/2007 04:40:21

Turks burning Barbie and Spiderman dolls
Posted On 10/12/2007 04:12:35
/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Cinemas screening American films are closed in Istanbul. To protest adoption of the Armenian Genocide Resolution by the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee dozens of Macdonald’s employees did not appear at work.

Besides, Turkey threatens to restrict the U.S. use of Incirlik base and seems to neglect Washington’s warning against intrusion into Northern Iraq.

An address of the Turkish authorities to the nation was read in Istanbul streets. Speaking to CNN-Turk, PM Erdogan said “the U.S. Congressmen are not entitled to rewrite history.” “Parliamentarians are called to normalize relations and care about future but not past. Turkey has been a U.S. ally in the region for 50 years. I do not see a reason for undermining these relations,” he said.

Students and trade companies’ employees are holding pickets at the U.S. Consulate building in Ankara shouting out anti-American slogans. Turkey is launching a campaign in “defense of national dignity.” Protestors call to break off relations with the U.S., to boycott American goods.

Turkish media reports that dozens of American toys, including Barbie and Spiderman dolls, were burnt in a shop in southeast of the country, the RFE/RL reports.
