It's an old phenomenon: When the dispossessed get clout, the past becomes a battleground. Often the stakes in the present are extraordinarily high.

What if
the Armenian genocide resolution is voted down in the US congress

What if
the turks keep denying history and continue teaching Turkish schoolchildren that more Turks than Armenians died in a “conflict”.

What if
this resolution recognizing the Armenian genocide of 1915 is brought up again for vote in another year (in another time).
