On April 21, 2004, the House of Commons of the Canadian Parliament adopted 153-68 a motion recognizing the Armenian Genocide. Since the Senate had already passed a resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide (June 13, 2002), the adoption of the Bill M-380 finalizes a complete acknowledgement by Canada's legislature of the fact of the Armenian Genocide. Bill M-380 reads
"That this House acknowledges the Armenian genocide of 1915 and condemns this act as a crime against humanity."
Intelligence, humour, self esteem, compassion, genuineness, honesty, passion, class, HUMILITY (treats others with respect and doesn't walk around like their kaka don't stink). Someone who can balance being strong and feminine at the same time.
If you'd like some interesting conversation, or just want to shout out and vent, I'd be happy to chat. Feel free to leave a msg and I'll get back to you ASAP. I like using this site as a way to get to know other Armenians around the world so don't be shy, drop a line or two. Peace out.
My Rant
I'm like the kid in sixth sense except I see fake people. There hasn't been a period of time in history where women haven't played the mating game by deception. Whether by using bustiers/corsets, makeup or fashion to make them more attractive to men (Really, what else do men have to live for? :)) or just merely to gain an edge over other women. But they still remained real, alive, and desirable.
I would be lying if I said that I'm not naturally attracted to beautiful, curvely and shapely bodies but I also crave the femininity that comes from warmth, compassion, intelligence and humour that can only be gained out of human interaction and life. I prefer alive women.... real one's (no pun intended... but I do prefer real one's, LOL). Not personalities from movies, tv or a magazine.
But today, women are being idealized more than ever. Being sold in magazines like cartoons, being passed off as the real thing, but - no life, no truth, and airbrushed down to the very last detail. Just plain eye candy, frozen in time like a barbie doll. Uninteresting, uninviting, undeveloped. I for one am not buying into it and I wonder whether those that do are just playing along with the rest of the "Unthinking Majority".
With the advancement of technology and artificiality, I can't fathom a future where even more idealized and fake images will be used posing as real people. Plastic surgery is becoming more and more common because women are trying to match these ideal and unrealistic images. I think the population needs to wake up and realize that humanity is something that we don't want to lose.
In closing... screw Hollywood and the media, real women shouldn't be measured against unrealistic images. Of course, this doesn't only apply to women, but I'm merely looking at it from my point of view.

What's So Special About TRUE Armenians??
We are few but we are called Armenians
We do not put ourselves above anyone
Simply we also admit that we, only we have Mount Ararat
And that it is right here on the clear Sevan
that the sky could make its exact duplicate
Simply David has indeed fought right here
Simply the Narek was written right here
Simply we know how to build from the rock, a monastery
How to make fish from stone, how to make man from clay
To learn to become the student of the beautiful,
the kind, the noble, and the good. ~Baruyr Sevag (1924-1971)
Tower of Power - 2 Lebs and an Armo - I was on top
My view on life, war, love, power, politics, etc. can be summed up by the following quote
"The ideal of a single civilisation for everyone implicit in the cult of progress and technique, impoverishes and mutilates us. Every view of the world that becomes extinct, every culture that disappears, diminishes a possibility of life."
~ Mexican poet Octavio Paz
