New and Improved Capitalism

Do you believe honestly that we live in a country (U.S.) that actually practices what it preaches about freedom and democracy? Or, is there a hidden truth to do the whole Idea? You tell me, I'm open to any, or all of your opinions. Thanks!

Oh yeah... the idea of Democracy shouldn't be confused with Capitalism. Capitalism, Socialism and Communism are all systematic ways of governing a population and distributing resources. Democracy is SUPPOSED to be a way for the population to elect leaders that represent the populations' best interests. If all you really have to choose from is TWO world views (being democrats/liberals and republicans/ conservatives) then thats not exactly democracy.
